Caffeine can do more then just wake you up in the morning. A new study shows that “caffeine might help inhibit, and possibly even reverse, damage to skin caused by the sun.” However, don’t start downing excessive cups of Starbucks thinking that you’re preventing skin cancer. For the caffeine to have an impact, it has to be applied topically. When caffeine is applied directly to damaged skin it “blocked pre-cancerous cells from dividing and becoming skin cancer.” In the future, be on the lookout for caffeine to be included in skin products like lotions, moisturizers and sunscreens.

If they know caffeine can be beneficial why isn't it already in skincare products?
The study that was conducted only proved these findings on mice...Human trials would still need to be conducted to check for safety.
caffeine already is in a number of skin care products. Sometimes its listed as just caffeine and sometimes its a caffeine product - such as green or white tea (which I noticed was in night rainew).
